About this job:


Reporting to the Senior Director (Established Markets) Commercial Insights and Strategy, this role has 1 direct report and be responsible for leading the Nordic Affiliate Commercial Insights activities for assigned products, providing forward looking insights to advance the understanding of the relevant markets, competitors and customers. The objective, as part of a global structure will be to deliver major competitive advantage for Astellas’ products


The role has the dual purpose of supporting the Nordics affiliate in the local markets in addition to working with global colleagues in the Commercial Insights group to ensure a consistent and integrated approach for the communication of insights and implications, linked to global brand strategies and objectives

This is an opportunity to deliver local knowledge and support as part of a global team


Some of the key activities are noted below:


  • Develop deep understanding of the market landscape which includes market potential, trends, unmet medical and patient need, market access challenges and competitor products
  • Serve as the primary strategic partner for Affiliate commercial leadership, providing forward thinking insight to drive business decisions and outcomes
  • Deliver and execute insights plans aligned with global counterparts, address Affiliate  strategic objectives, tactical requirements and decision-making needs.
  • Provide assumptions and inputs into analytics plans to inform market and response models such as forecasting, identification of data sources, and other secondary research
  • Work with global Insights & Strategy teams such as Data Strategy, Analytics & Reporting and Commercial Forecasting ensuring consistency in the communication of insights and implications aligned to global brand strategies
  • Lead the Cluster team from a performance management perspective and address any capability development needs for future growth and oppotunities


Essential Knowledge & Experience:


  • Solid experience from within the pharmaceutical/health care industry and an understanding of the broad functions within a global pharmaceutical organization
  • Experience of strategy development, market research, business analytics, strategic forecasting or related fields
  • Able to identify, evaluate and translate primary and secondary data sources with experience  of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Project management skills with evidence of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good understanding of business strategy, Rx products, and customers/patients
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and partnering skills with demonstrated ability to lead and work in a global matrix environment
  • Ability to influence decision-making and gain the respect, collaboration and support of stakeholders without line-authority
  • Fluent in written and verbal business English, able to communicate complex messages, in to a broad range of stakeholders, including senior executives


Preferred Knowledge & Experience


  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in maths or science
  • Experience working with global partners
