About this job

The Global IS Commercial team have an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio & Programme Manager to be responsible for the global delivery of the IS-CCP Commercial portfolio of projects, from project approval in pre-planning, correctly managed through implementation and handover into live service and project closure.

Key Accountabilities:

You will effectively monitor and manage the delivery of the External Service Providers and where deviation occurs then take action to mitigate any impact on the Astellas business. Make decisions around resourcing options for projects, ensuring optimal delivery and alignment with Astellas Strategic Services providers and guidelines and ensure effective on-boarding and training for all Project Managers and project resources, working with Strategic service providers.
Ensure that all projects and programmes are managed by the Project and Programme Managers under their span of control in accordance with the Astellas Project Management Methodology, and where relevant projects comply with J-SOx Project Management controls, to give ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality for the Astellas business to benefit from the investment made.
Communicate with senior managers and stakeholders in IS and across the Global organisation who have an interest in the projects and programmes being delivered to ensure they understand the status of projects, the risks and issues being managed and any impacts of changes to scope and schedule to allow them to effectively manage their areas of responsibility within the Astellas business.
Review progress and plans of individual projects and programmes to ensure milestones are met, expenditures and costs are in line with approved budgeted spend. Report approved budget variances and progress at regular intervals to the Head of Projects & Programmes and other relevant stakeholders i.e. Director IS-Gov
In conjunction with the IS Planning & Control function conduct root and branch reviews of projects and programmes (particularly those running over long periods of time) on an appropriate basis to check alignment with the business and/or benefits of project still valid, check continued alignment with IT strategy and take appropriate action as a result of findings whilst considering the implications on the overall portfolio of projects and he customer/business seeking to be met.

Essential Knowledge & Experience

• Pharma sector experience with strong customer focus; in multi-disciplinary, matrix and cross-cultural settings.
• Proven project management expertise utilising methodologies e.g. Prince 2 or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal including facilitation, presentation and coaching.
• Proven strong customer service skills with good attention to detail.
• Good time management skills and experience in managing parallel and interdependent projects and managing risks, interdependencies, resources etc.
• Analytical approach to problem solving and process improvement; continuous improvement approach.
• Ability to influence and persuade others to resolve project issues and conflicts constructively.
• Ability to create a sense of community amongst disparate members of the project teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of GxP issues and Pharma qualified infrastructure and validated applications.
• Demonstrable progress in the delivery of increasingly complex project and programme delivery with a particular focus on SAP related work from design, through realisation and closure.
• Comprehensive IS experience preferably including experience of working with a variety of Business systems including SAP or other ERP, Data Warehousing and Reporting tools, financial consolidation models, HR and CRM applications.

Educations/Qualifications

• Degree educated, and/or equivalent experience.
