The Opportunity:

As a Lead, Health Economics, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of health economic strategies and tactics to support patient access optimization including the development of global cost-effectiveness and budget impact models, early economic models & model adaptations for local affiliate submissions in addition to a range of related health economics projects that support payer/HTA value demonstration.

You will provide technical health economics expertise and leadership within Astellas by identifying solutions and defining projects to inform and optimize pricing, reimbursement, and market access and ensuring brand team at the global and affiliate level have the appropriate value communication tools and content available to them at the optimal time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop fit-for-purpose early economic models to support value optimization.
  • In collaboration with cross-functional partners identify and consolidate key payer/HTA value needs and ensure incorporated into the Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (iEGP) and relevant functional plans.
  • Lead the development of core HTA submission models with key Cost-Effectiveness affiliates and ensure model localization is implemented.
  • Ensure other health economic data and evidence generate tactics in support of brand value are identified, prioritized, and implemented.
  • Liaise with medical and health economic KEEs to ensure optimized model structures and key data input for reimbursement applications and contribute to the advancement of new methodologies.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in building cost-effectiveness economic models and budget impact models.
  • Sound understanding of pricing, reimbursement, and government agency requirements, as well as the competitive economic dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry in key markets.
  • Experience in developing and interpreting economic models and understanding systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
  • Solid knowledge of clinical trial data and design, and experience in analyzing and interpreting clinical trial data is required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Broad technical expertise and project leadership capabilities with a proven track record of effectively managing and influencing staff and stakeholders, a demonstrated ability to lead and deliver results, and the capability to solve complex issues involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in working effectively across diverse cultures with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and convey technical information, including complex policy and reimbursement information in business-relevant language to diverse audiences.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Health Economics, or equivalent.

Additional Information:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position.
  • This position is based in the United Kingdom.
  • This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 1 day per quarter in our Addlestone, United Kingdom office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
