About This Job:


Astellas is currently hiring a Product Manager for Hematology to be based in Cairo, Egypt. The role will report directly into the Business Unit Director, Egypt.


Purpose of the Position:


  • Generate and gather insights, opportunities, risks and needs from the country markets and give input to the relevant Brand Teams and Commercial Area (MEA) Director to ensure representation in the respective brand cocreation teams.
  • Check for alignment of the Affiliate brand priorities and market requirements.
  • Co-develop and execute the operational brand plan in-market through localisation/ adaption of regional & global level materials and initiatives.
  • Ensure locally specific created initiatives and materials are appropriate, approved by the relevant Brand Teams and MEA Commercial Director and aligned with the brand strategy and positioning.
  • Champion the brand in-country through an expertise in all aspects of the brand within the appropriate market, providing a direct interface with the Field force management team.
  • Lead and manage the local cross-functional brand group, ensuring inclusion of Sales Brand Champions, Medical, Business & Market Insights and Market Access.
  • Ensure all marketing channels identified for use locally (including but not limited to Digital) are aligned to the Therapeutic Area and Brand strategies and approved by the relevant Brand Teams Leads (and other respective governance bodies if needed).
  • Localise brand content according to Affiliate regulatory needs and ensure training is provided to the Field force team to support their use of the content within the operational brand plan.
  • Balancing strategic and operational capability (30/70), with a bias towards execution between time spent with customers and on executing the plan.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:


  • Significant experience of contributing to the development and implementation of brand strategy to reflect local views and achieving exceptional results to budget.
  • Should have previous experience working for a global organization and be able to operate in a matrix team set.
  • Preferably knowledgeable within Hematology. Experience in other therapeutic areas relevant to Astellas such as Oncology, Immunology, Anti-infectives etc will also be considered as long as you have a proven track record of planning, managing product launches, measurement and revenue growth within speciality care.
  • Experience of working in a Pharma sales organisation or similar environment.
  • Strong collaborative skills: able to work cross-functionally and with virtual teams
  • Experience of implementing co-created patient centric integrated services, solutions, and programmes.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills and ability to develop and maintain good working relations with internal and external stakeholders
