About this job

The Global IS team have an exciting opportunity in the UK for a Global Senior Manager IS Business Partner to identify, implement and make effective use of HR technologies in order to enhance the value of the business.
The incumbent will work with HR business leaders and the Information Systems Team to ensure that Global IT systems are aligned with business strategy centrally and in the affiliates and ensure they comply with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, standards and quality systems, ensuring that IT investment is relevant to business requirements, demonstrably beneficial and appropriately leveraged.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with key Stakeholders to identify requirements and support delivery for Business Systems and Business Enhancements which IT can enable.
  • Manage IT Account Management relationships with business functions and internal customers as required in the specific IS-BP role.
  • Ensure that Business Functions understand and support IT initiatives as appropriate and that the IT function is responsive to feedback from internal customers.
  • Turn Business Strategy into clearly directed, beneficial and cost-effective IT projects ready to start implementation, including; review and propose on trends and projects to be pursued within the functional area. Ensure appropriate technical and managerial Go/No Go review of project proposals including the availability of cost/benefit/risk analyses (“business cases”) and consistency with IT-Governance rules regarding decision-making. Ensure availability of appropriate project plans for implementation addressing organisational, technical, process, change management and training perspectives when introducing new applications.
  • Ensure appropriate selection of solutions and third parties required to support changes identified.
  • Ensure that initiatives generated by business functions are in line with the European approach and utilise appropriate tools where these already exist within the IT estate.
  • People - Develop the personal network required to enable successful collaboration internally and externally in support of departmental objectives.
  • Build effective and productive working relations with colleagues in relevant functions within Astellas HQ, Affiliates, plus other IS-BP groups and peers across Astellas Global organisation.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Pharma sector experience with strong customer focus; in multi-disciplinary, matrix and cross-cultural settings.
  • Proven IS Business Partner experience within HR, including delivery management, account/relationship management, product management and strategic consulting.
  • Track-record of leading planning process with excellent organisational and collaboration skills.
  • Robust experience in an IT Department, including international and multi-national business.
  • Proven experience operating in pan-regional role working with remote/virtual and cross-cultural teams. Experience with US/Japan/Europe an advantage.
  • Experience of managing Senior non-IT Stakeholders in Account Management relationships, representing the needs of the business function and the IT department.
  • Experience of strategic planning (Roadmaps) and of aligning IT strategies with business goals.
  • Experience of working through different stages of the systems development life cycle, including user requirements gathering and blueprinting.
  • Foundation in Process management, requirements gathering, analysis technique.
  • Ability to act and react with a customer focus first and foremost and to talk the (business) language of the customer.

Educations/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
