About this job:


Responsible for the Warehouse department is a part of the logistics department and responsible for all physical, logistical handling within the Meppel plant. The inbound team’s goal is to provide optimal support to the plant with all the needed materials in a timely way to prevent production delays. The outbound warehouse team is executing the storage, packing, loading and all related administrative handling activities in alignment with the Central Logistics Operations Team.


The Warehouse department is responsible for the sampling process for all inbound ingredients and raw materials, as a delegated task from QC. All Meppel physical waste streams are managed by warehouse staff. Another responsibility is purchasing and ordering all indirect materials, such as office supplies and critical consumables used by the plant to support production and offices.


Strategic and operational responsibility for the Warehouse and Logistics department and functional management of the Meppel SAP support organization.


Assuring a reliable, (cost-) effective and compliant flow of all related inbound, stocking and outbound processes Contributing to the continuous improvement of Quality, SHE and Efficiency.


Amongst the main responsibilities for this role are the following:

Essential Knowledge & Experience:


  • Bachelor (HBO) or Masters (Academic) degree in logistics or a related field.
  • Fluency in Dutch and in English.
  • Developed coaching and managing skills.
  • Highly competent in people management.
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal, presentation, reporting) in Dutch and English.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Highly developed Quality/SHE awareness.
  • Ability to manage contracts and logistics processes across cultural boundaries in an international setting.
  • Ability to execute ERP (SAP) integrated processes, including integrations with other business processes like finance.
  • Zero mistake mentality.
  • Continuous improvement / lean skills.
