About This Job

This is a highly strategic role serving as a core member of the Omni Channel Operations Leadership Team, leading a team working directly with the Global Strategic Brand Marketing teams, across a significant number of stakeholders. The position is jointly responsible for the end-to-end content operating model design, strategic content frameworks (global to local), and has accountability for effectively partnering with key stakeholders to bring to life future ways of working and the marketing content operation model.

The successful candidate for this role will be an expert in building robust and effective working relationships with varied stakeholders, be able to guide/leverage agency partnerships and build forward-looking frameworks which embrace best practice and support challenge through change.

The role requires the ability to lead strategically but take a hands-on approach if required and be able to embrace ambiguity through large scale change. The position carries a significant leadership voice of the digital transformation at Astellas and is critical to the success of the new Omni-channel Operations function. 

Key Activities are noted below

  • Responsible for the strategic development, oversight, implementation, and evolution of the end-to-end operating model of Astellas omni-channel operations and marketing ambition.
  • Accountable for partnering with co-LT members and other stakeholders to design, evolve and successfully implement/deliver new ways of working
  • Responsible for stakeholder engagement, cross-functional partnering that delivers on shared, mutually beneficial objectives
  • Be a key influencer and leader across the global business of the digital transformation ambition, positioning developments and solutions to current pain points, enabling customer journey personalization and improved customer experience.
  • Lead a team of Strategic Brand Marketing (SBM) partners who engage with global commercial teams to deliver the functions objectives as well as coaching, counselling, and advising on marketing and omnichannel operations
  • Build/develop a team of subject matter experts adding value to global teams and enhancing the seamless delivery of end-to-end content operation.
  • Represent the voice of global commercial stakeholders in the ongoing transformation of content operations initiatives
  • Assess SBM performance relative to a mixture of metrics including pertinent baselines and other monitoring solutions
  • Deliver change management and communications plan that supports the standardization and streamline of the content operation globally
  • Understand the strategic needs of the broader global commercial business and partner with business peers to support collaboration and solution-seeking ideation.

Essential Knowledge & Experience


  • Solid experience from within the pharmaceutical or healthcare environment in a global setting
  • Significant content strategy, operations, and/or brand marketing experience including digital strategy, digital marketing or multi-channel
  • A good awareness of current innovation in content strategy, modular content approaches, and other forward-looking developments within content and operations
  • Strong people and strategic leadership experience, particularly managing virtual teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence/manage senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Fluent in written and spoken business English
  • Evidence of leading and managing project-based and/or multiple initiatives at once with varying levels of complexity and maturity
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and experience working across complex negotiation and other process-related delivery models
