The Opportunity:

As Affiliate Lead, Value Evidence (VE), you will create and execute local VE strategies, represented in the core Medical Plans (CMP), and integrated Evidence Generation Plans, and ensure impactful value evidence communication.

In this role, you will ensure prioritization of value evidence generation activities to demonstrate the value of Astellas’ compounds to relevant external stakeholders including but not limited to Payers/HTA, HCP, and patients and to optimize the likelihood to obtain and maintain market access for the assigned Astellas products.

You will be responsible for representing the VE voice in the Local Brand Team, and seeking global alignment of VE activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic discussions of Value Evidence needs, priorities, challenges and impact in Local Brand Team.
  • Develop VE strategies and tactics that are evidence based, scientifically valid, and medically relevant and patient focused; address the drivers, barriers and needs of local HTA, payers, patients, healthcare providers, policy makers and regulators in line with local brand plans, and are integrated in the Core Medical Plans and integrated Evidence Generation Plans. The results produced by the VE Affiliate Lead must be in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Responsible for delivery and dissemination of value evidence including but not limited to real world evidence, comparative effectiveness, patient reported outcomes, post hoc analyses, epidemiologic data, and patient experience data for assigned Astellas products, address business needs, and supports patient access and HTA/reimbursement requirements with expectations for peer-reviewed publications relevant to VE strategies.
  • Ensure timely availability of value evidence to inform the development local Value Dossiers and local economic analyses, in partnership with Market based on local HTA needs.
  • Contribute evidence-based medical/clinical components of local value dossiers and local economic model adaptations - may be accountable for (portions of) local value dossiers (eg AMCP dossier in US) or local economic analyses when required by local codes/regulations.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Solid experience in at least one of the following fields: Outcomes Research, Health Economics, Clinical Research, Epidemiology or Health Policy.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Expertise in understanding interface between clinical practice and outcomes research.
  • Strong background in leveraging outcomes data in the appropriate clinical context.
  • Interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills working within cross-functional teams.
  • Thorough understanding of global guidelines as they relate to Outcomes Research.
  • Expertise in local HTA/payer reimbursement and market access requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in pharmaceutical research design and methods as well as excellent project and vendor management skills.
  • Fluent in English and Italian languages.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Life Sciences (PharmD, PhD, MD), Health Economics or Epidemiology, or equivalent.

Additional information:

  • This is a permanent full-time position.
  • Location: This position is based in Italy.
  • This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and minimum 2 days per week in our respective local affiliate office. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
