Location and Working Environment
- This position is hybrid and will require you to be onsite 2 days per week in our Addlestone office
- This position is a field-based opportunity in the UK.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 10-20%, more potentially if remote)

Purpose & Scope
- The Content Specialist strengthens Astellas Pharma’ global brand teams by building content as a core capability and driving efficient, high-impact operations aligned to the Global-for-Local model.
- The role oversees best practices across the full content lifecycle—from planning to distribution—ensuring tailored, omnichannel messaging, strong compliance (including ABC/MLR), and continuous optimisation based on performance insights.
- Working cross-functionally with brand, medical, analytics, affiliates, and agencies, the Content Specialist acts as a key partner and SME, delivering streamlined processes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Supporting content planning, creation, and approval in partnership with Global Brand Marketing
- Owning end-to-end content project management, including briefing and coordination with creative and production teams
- Acting as Veeva PromoMats SME, managing workflows and coordinating with internal and external partners
- Coordinating ABC/MLR reviews, ensuring a seamless flow of materials through Veeva PromoMats
- Supporting and shaping omnichannel (OC) journey recommendations for affiliates
- Creating global OC journey assets for localisation (e.g. Activator)
- Building and maintaining content portals, libraries, and modular assets, ensuring accurate tagging and structure
- Driving content performance by establishing KPIs, sharing insights, and enabling data-driven decision

- Partnering closely with affiliate content specialists, this role ensures global content is aligned to local market needs and delivers real impact. It supports Global Brand Marketing in creating and delivering Global-for-Local content packages that are relevant, adaptable, and ready for market.
- Acting as the go-to expert for omnichannel content, Veeva PromoMats, and emerging capabilities (including AI, Activator, Claims Libraries, and NBE content readiness), the role also serves as the key connection point for the Omnichannel Content Factory and GXM teams—driving quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.
- With a strong focus on content excellence, the role ensures effective use of content technologies, manages brand portals, and drives consistent adoption of processes and standards across the organisation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Proven experience in content creation, localisation, and omnichannel engagement within pharma, life sciences, or other regulated industries
- Strong analytical mindset, translating data and insights into clear, actionable decisions
- Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects
- Experience working within pharma brand teams and across digital strategy, marketing, and multi-channel delivery
- Up to date with evolving content strategies, including modular approaches and operational innovation
- Confident communicator, able to engage, influence, and align senior stakeholders
- Translating brand strategy into clear, impactful content tailored to specific audiences
- Strong grounding in content marketing and omnichannel engagement
- Familiarity with Veeva tools (PromoMats, CRM, Approved Email, Remote Engage) and key digital platforms
- Crafting concise, compelling copy that connects with target audiences
- Bringing strong project and portfolio management skills, with attention to detail and a solutions-driven approach
- Flexible and adaptable, supporting the demands of a global role
- Working confidently within copyright and compliance frameworks
- Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to prioritise and follow through
- Collaborating effectively across diverse teams and with senior stakeholders and building strong relationships across teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in omnichannel content within pharma, life sciences, FMCG, or content-driven marketing environments (including agencies)
- Solid understanding of Legal, Medical, and Regulatory (LMR) review processes and market-specific compliance requirements
- Hands-on experience engaging with HCPs, payers, and patients, ideally in a sales or field-based role
- Exposure to oncology and/or other specialist therapeutic areas
- Naturally curious and forward-thinking, staying close to evolving content and digital transformation trends
- Strong awareness of digital innovation, content ecosystems, marketing technologies, and workflow tools
