Location and Working Environment


This position is hybrid and will require you to be onsite 1 day per quarter in our Addlestone office.

This position is a field-based opportunity in the UK.

Purpose & Scope


  • A Women’s Health Specialist will lead the introduction of a first-in-class menopause-focused product, working closely with primary and secondary care professionals to improve patient outcomes, access, and quality of care in line with UK best practices and NICE guidelines.
  • The role combines stakeholder engagement, education, and partnership-building with a strong commercial focus on driving sales growth, expanding market share, and enabling product adoption across NHS services. It also involves removing access barriers, translating NHS insights into actionable strategies, and collaborating internally and externally to deliver integrated, high-impact healthcare solutions.

Role and Responsibilities


  • Primary and Secondary Care Collaboration: Act as the central liaison between GPs, gynecologists, endocrinologists, sexual health consultants, nursing staff and Pharmacists to improve cross-disciplinary approaches to menopause management.
  • Patient Pathway Optimisation: Support the implementation of patient pathways for menopause care, ensuring that patients receive timely referrals and coordinated care across primary and secondary settings.
  • Accountable for delivery of the sales target for their given territory
  • Seen as the local NHS expert with a clear understanding of the evolving NHS landscape, able to simplify a complex NHS environment
  • Strong existing relationships with key NHS stakeholders across primary & secondary care
  • Development and ownership of the territory business plan, influence into the regional account plan and roll up into the national plan
  • Development of the local sales forecast and roll up into the regional forecast plan
  • Support the CBM in the creation and delivery of the regional level business plan.


Continue: Role and Responsibilities


  • To achieve territory sales targets through call rates, coverage, and frequency of calling on identified customers in Tertiary & Secondary care to include Consultants, Hospital nurses, Hospital pharmacists, Lead GP’s & Other relevant decision makers (ORDM)
  • Develop and execute local value propositions with clinical stakeholders to create the optimal access environment for advocates to champion the use of speciality brands
  • Leverage MAx tools and resources to create the case for change with clinical stakeholders as required
  • Develop implementation plans to commercialise published pathways and guidelines
  • Identify and build relationships with clinical decision makers and align products and services to their needs. Create multi-layer influencer maps for these decision-making customers.
  • Provide market insights to wider regional team.
  • Create and implement advocacy development plans to ensure key customers will endorse the use of treatment in a first- or second-line position.
  • Work with others from the sales force and head office functions as required on ad hoc projects.
  • Responsible for personal compliance and helping embed a compliance culture within the region and wider organisation
  • Accurately report/submit sales call activities, territory expenses and written reports and within deadline as defined by Astellas or the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Demonstrate consistent strong teamwork and winning attitude and positive approach


Required Qualifications


  • Experience in Women’s health essential.
  • Pharma sector experience of GP and Secondary Care work
  • Ideally life sciences related degree or equivalent
  • Able to demonstrate successful adoption of a launch brand 
  • ABPI qualified
  • Able to deliver effective local forecasts and demonstrate business ownership
  • Willing/able to drive; valid driving license.
  • Appreciation of relevant Compliance and Regulatory legislation, application and forthcoming changes
  • Proven expertise in utilising MS Office and various databases (typing, input, updating, reporting).
  • Experienced in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to liaise credibly and, challenge appropriately with due consideration for cultural differences.
  • ‘Can do’ attitude (Mindset of an Owner) - someone who gets things done - able to work on own as well as in teams. Self-motivated, enthusiastic and energetic
