Location and Working Environment

- This position is located in the UK, but open to considering candidates based in any country where Astellas maintains an active legal entity, with employment terms governed by the local standards of the hiring country.
Purpose & Scope
- Oversees program management and operations for post-POC assets and marketed brands, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Partners with regional leadership (MA Heads & Presidents) to support, coordinate, and execute brand activities, including budget management and risk mitigation.
- Drives operational delivery of brand strategy across regions, ensuring alignment with global objectives and strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Provides strategic oversight to ensure regional brand activities are delivered on time, within budget, and tracked against objectives with clear reporting.
- Maintains the integrity and independence of Medical Affairs by proactively consulting leadership and safeguarding compliance in all activities.
- Role and Responsibilities
- Lead execution of regional VALUE Delivery plans for assigned brands, ensuring timely and compliant delivery of tactics aligned with regional strategy.
- Partner with Global Brand Strategy teams to translate global strategic objectives into actionable regional plans.
- Partner with Benefit Risk Team (BRT) / Central Implementation Team (CIT) to ensure the successful implementation of additional Risk Minimisation Measures (aRMMs) to maintain a positive benefit-risk profile for marketed products via Local Implementation Teams (LIT)
- Act as a key liaison between Regional Brand Teams and affiliate to ensure alignment and integration of activities.
- Collaborate with brand teams across Priority Markets to align on plans and operational activities that reflect the needs of patients and healthcare providers.
- Facilitate Agile ways of working within program teams to enhance responsiveness and efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support program objectives and maintain alignment with industry standards.
Continue: Role and Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a team of program managers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Coach and develop members of the regional program management team, fostering competencies and behaviours aligned with the Astellas Values & Behaviours while also preparing for future organisational needs.
- Drive cultural and operational transformation initiatives, ensuring long-term sustainable success.
- Ensure that the team understands and utilizes agile ways of working, providing skills development as needed
- Foster a culture of collaboration, flexibility, and responsiveness to change, enabling the team to thrive in an agile environment
- Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements in all program activities.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent
- Strong track record of experience in program management or related roles within pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Proven ability to manage complex projects in a matrix environment and deliver results through collaboration
- Experience aligning strategy and operations activities across medical affairs and commercial
- Substantial project management, operations or business analysis experience
- Strong operational and organizational skills with experience in budget and resource management
- Previous leadership experience and demonstration of working autonomously
- Significant knowledge of global drug development and product lifecycle management processes
- Experience of leading and driving project management activities
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and function autonomously
- Advanced use of Word, PowerPoint, and spreadsheet software (PivotTables, etc.)
- Good time management, planning and scheduling skills, strong attention to detail
- Team player, collaborative, relationship oriented, good decision and problem-solving ability
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Strong ability to be proactive in identifying and managing project-related issues
- Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively across a global organization, both cross-functionally and cross-culturally
- Demonstrated ability to manage people in a highly regulated industry. Proven track record of being able to hire, train, coach, develop, and motivate a regional team
- Strong ability to be proactive in identifying and managing project-related issues
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams in a matrixed environment
- Exceptional strategic thinking, business acumen, and decision-making skills
- Strong written and oral communication, strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent project management skills, including managing timelines, budgets and resources
