Astellas’ Global Capability Centres – Overview
Astellas’ Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are strategically located sites that give Astellas the ability to access talent across various functions in the value chain and to co-locate core capabilities that are currently dispersed. Our three GCCs are located in India, Poland and Mexico.
The GCCs will enhance our operational efficiency, resilience and innovation potential, enabling a timely response to changing business demands.

Location and Working Environment
This position is onsite in Warsaw, Poland.
This position is hybrid and will require you to be onsite for a minimum of 1 day per week/month/quarter.

Purpose & Scope
- We’re seeking a visionary leader to drive Scientific Content Excellence across Medical Affairs globally.
- You’ll own processes, operations, and technology that enable the creation and maintenance of our Scientific Communication Platform (SCP) and digital repositories.
- This role is pivotal in embedding omni-channel digital transformation and ensuring compliance with governance standards.
Role and Responsibilities
- Scientific Content Excellence
- Act as Business Process Owner for global digital repositories housing scientific content and non-promotional medical materials across all priority products and therapeutic areas.
- Select, configure, and implement digital tools to make scientific content easily retrievable and usable by Global, Regional, and Affiliate teams via portals, slide sorters, and other platforms.
- Operationalize global scientific content strategy and ensure seamless customer experience through efficient operating models.
- Develop and oversee end-to-end content operations standards, governance frameworks, and monitoring mechanisms.
- Onboard and manage external content librarian teams within the centralized global production hub for content storage and retrieval.
- Monitor and optimize Digital Asset Management (DAM) through KPIs such as content reuse, time-to-market, and review/approval cycles.
- Ensure compliance with metadata and taxonomy standards in DAM platforms and resolve non-adherence issues.
- Collaborate with Data Intelligence to capture and analyze scientific content usage data, ensuring actionable feedback loops to content creation teams.
- Integrated Medical Insights Excellence
- Partner with Digital Excellence to establish and maintain a global medical insights platform.
- Optimize insights assessment and analysis processes through digital innovation and automation.
- Collaborate with AI teams to leverage artificial intelligence and natural language processing for insights generation.

- Omni-Channel Scientific Communications
- Enable omni-channel strategies that meet HCP informational needs and deliver scientific narratives across preferred formats and channels.
- Drive innovative communication methods to improve customer experience and position Astellas as an industry leader in medical communications.
- Governance & Compliance
- Own processes governing scientific content and non-promotional materials, ensuring adherence to Astellas SOPs and regulatory standards.
- Manage repositories that document review and approval workflows for scientific content.
- Act as Business Process Owner for multiple systems and tools (e.g., DAM platform, MLR tool, medical portal, insights platform).
- Develop and maintain SOPs, operating models, and business processes for scientific content and insights.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in a scientific field or equivalent
- Strong experience in scientific/medical roles within global pharma; preferably also in Medical Affairs (experience in external engagement, content creation and material review)
- Proven experience managing global processes, systems, and digital repositories.
- Demonstrates business acumen.
- Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in content strategy and creative development.
- Familiarity with multimedia and omni-channel communication.
