The Opportunity:
As a Public Affairs Implementation Lead, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of policy strategy developed by the Global Public Policy leads in countries of scope.
You will work collaboratively with Global Public Policy leads and countries to facilitate policy positions that shape a positive market access environment for Astellas products, while positioning the company as a credible, ethical and respected leader in the health care industry.
In this role, you will work & collaborate with key business functions within the global commercial organization as well as other internal stakeholders to ensure the Company’s policy efforts support business objectives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work across brands geographically focused on Japan, China and other countries in the region.
- Responsible for localising the brand or therapeutic area policy strategies with countries in scope and deliver policy projects supporting different brand specific advocacy initiatives.
- Key point of contact for developing advocacy relationships and partners for the execution of Global Public Affairs relevant campaigns within the countries in scope.
- Regularly conduct policy analyses of key market access policy trends to understand impact of policy developments and leads Astellas cross-functional teams to solve problems and identify novel, practical solutions to policy needs and changes.
- Contribute to the development of content for internal department publications and communications.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Extensive government policy experience, or in related fields.
- Expertise in creating and developing government policy positions in a corporate setting.
- Comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of pharmaceutical market access in key markets globally.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team and cross-functionally in an organization.
- Supportive of collaborative thinking and problem solving with others in the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, negotiation and communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively address all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and deliver multiple projects.
Preferred Experience:
- Pharmaceutical/healthcare industry marketing experience.
- Experience with national and/or state/regional healthcare industry associations.
- Government or political experience – legislative / parliamentary / regulatory agency.
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Additional Information:
- This is a permanent, full-time position.
- This position is based in the United Kingdom.
- This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 1 day per quarter in our Addlestone, United Kingdom office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
