The Opportunity:

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the day-to-day operational success of Source-to-Pay (S2P) Invoice Processing across the EMEA region. As the Source to Pay Operations Invoice Processing SME – EMEA Region, you will be responsible for ensuring that invoice-related processes run smoothly, efficiently, and compliantly—delivering best-in-class operational performance while remaining aligned with Astellas’ global S2P framework.

Acting as a regional subject matter expert, you will oversee quality control, compliance, and continuous improvement, leveraging technology and agile practices to ensure exceptional service delivery and stakeholder satisfaction. This is a high-impact role where your ability to champion process excellence and collaborate cross-functionally will directly enable Procurement's transformation agenda.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Leading daily operational performance of Invoice Processing within EMEA, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Acting as SME across all sub-processes—supporting quality control, issue resolution, and user training where needed.
  • Engaging end-users and business units to translate feedback into tangible operational improvements.
  • Supporting agile transformation initiatives, contributing expertise across Contracting, Invoicing, and Supplier Master Data.
  • Driving alignment between regional operations and global S2P goals, ensuring scalability and consistency of processes.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Substantial experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain analytics, or digital transformation roles.
  • Proven track record applying data science or analytics to Procurement or Source-to-Pay domains.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools like Power BI or Tableau, with working knowledge of Python, SQL, and ERP systems such as SAP Ariba.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills with a proactive and problem-solving mindset in global matrixed settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to define business problems and apply iterative approaches to develop technology-enabled solutions.
  • Experience operating in global procurement or shared services environments across regions and time zones.
  • Builder mindset with a passion for innovation, demonstrated success leading digital initiatives within Procurement.
  • Proven ability to coach non-technical stakeholders and contribute to communities of practice or digital innovation hubs.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Economics, Supply Chain or Procurement or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in business English is essential for effective cross-country collaboration.

Additional information:

  • This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
