About This Job

As a Senior Manager Medical Education Excellence, your role involves being a strategic partner, working closely with key stakeholders such as Medical Affairs, Commercial, Legal, Ethics, and Compliance. Your primary goal is to ensure that medical education tools, systems, and processes align with the organization's needs while adhering to industry standards and regulations. 

You'll need to identify innovative tools and technologies for medical education and find ways to enhance efficiency and performance metrics. Drawing upon your expertise in medical education best practices, policies, and procedures, you'll ensure that management systems meet both regional and global requirements outlined by Astellas SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). Collaboration is key; you'll work across the Medical Education group within Medical Communications to achieve departmental objectives and support MA (Medical Affairs) Governance requirements. 

Additionally, you'll oversee data quality governance of medical education management systems and foster effective collaboration within Medical Affairs and across various functions like Commercial, Legal, IT, and Ethics and Compliance.

Key Activities for this role:

  • Establishes functional excellence for Medical Education activities at all levels of the organization, with a focus on driving innovation.
  • Leads implementation of industry knowledge and interpretation of new requirements to anticipate impact to stakeholders relating to Medical Education SOPs and/or Policies and related systems.
  • In partnership with the Senior Director, Medical Education and Process & Standards Excellence, creates/updates global medical education processes and policy to ensure IME and MA-initiated medical education meet the needs of the organization in a manner consistent with best practices according to industry standards and legal/regulatory agencies.
  • Develops training materials and provide training on medical education-related best practices and issues across the organization, including MA regions/affiliates and vendors.
  • Partners and supports Medical Education Leads to ensure that central symposium content is available and easily accessible via GAMMA for MA (Medical Affairs) Regions/Affiliates.
  • Responsible for data quality governance for GAMMA, CMP (Chemical Manufacturing Procedure) submission tool and CMP tracker; perform compliance monitoring/reporting for educational programs.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in a medical education facing role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong experience and proficiency working with medical education tools and/or management systems (e.g., grant portals, Veeva).
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines that may require a flexible work schedule.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Understanding of legal/regulatory/compliance requirements and guidelines with respect to medical education activities within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working across multiple cultures and countries/regions.

Educations/Qualifications:

  • Health Care Professional Degree or equivalent.

Additional Information:

  • Type of role full time permanent.
  • Location UK (Addlestone).
  • This position follows our hybrid working model. The role requires a blend of home and minimum 2 days per month in our UK office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
