Location and Working Environment
This position is hybrid and will require you to be onsite once per quarter.

Purpose & Scope
At a senior level, you step in as an independent programmer, taking ownership of complex clinical, Medical Affairs, and exploratory or regional studies across a development program.
You lead the end-to-end programming effort, with global accountability for all study- and submission-level deliverables within your assigned Primary Focus areas. This includes supporting a wide range of work—from clinical and observational studies to MA tactics, PK/PD, and biomarker analyses—while ensuring quality, consistency, and delivery across the program.
You also take responsibility for overseeing programming vendors on assigned compounds and play an active role in shaping and improving functional and departmental infrastructure initiatives.
As a Global Programmer Lead (GPROGL), you represent the organisation on programming matters, including during regulatory inspections, and lead delivery for late-stage or highly complex assets.
Alongside delivery, you contribute to strategic Statistical Programming and Data Science objectives, helping define direction and driving the implementation of key functional priorities.

· Leading complex programming activities spanning late-phase clinical trials, global regulatory submissions, HTA submissions, and post-marketing support
· Delivering high-quality, on-time statistical programming outputs, including datasets and TLFs, ensuring readiness for regulatory use and alignment with Astellas, industry, and regulatory standards
· Overseeing and optimising the use of programming vendors, ensuring efficiency, quality, and accountability
· Leading internal programming teams for insourced work, while coordinating closely with vendor leads for outsourced delivery
· Providing ongoing oversight of work delivered by Full-Service Providers (FSPs), acting as the key liaison between the FSP and Astellas

Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent.
· Proven experience with relevant programming experience in the pharmeceurical industry and working with vendors.
· Experience as a programmer for a drug development program
