The Opportunity:

As the Inventory and Intercompany Manager, you will be responsible for Supply Chain, Inventory and Intercompany Accounting, including cost allocations and Intellectual Property (IP) holder Accounting. You will supports the standard costing and intercompany transfer pricing processes with Astellas Tax, IP Holder and Affiliate entities globally to support Tax and transfer pricing compliance. This position prepares financial footnote and disclosures to support group level reporting to Astellas Pharma Inc. (Japan) parent company and is responsible for all associated controls.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of intercompany transactions including ensuring compliance with global accounting standards, identifying, and resolving discrepancies, and coordinating with various departments and stakeholders to continually streamline processes and improve efficiency.

You will also oversees the Resource Related Billing (RRB) process globally sup
ported by central resources in the Global General Accounting Team as well as those in the Business Process Outsourcer (BPO).

Key Activities for this role:

  • Ensure compliance with global accounting standards and regulatory requirements related to intercompany and inventory transactions.
  • Review intercompany transactions, netting and balances, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data, including discrepancy resolution.
  • Maintaining the SAP Cost Objects Structure to ensure costs are properly captured and charged to the responsible IP holding entity.
  • Maintaining and overseeing the execution of inter/intra-company assessment cycles (RRB) and associated invoicing in accordance with intercompany Transfer Pricing Agreements.
  • Analysing product profitability and gross margin for intercompany transactions (transfer pricing margins, IP holder margins, contract manufacturing, contract revenue) and performing true-up adjustments to align with Transfer Pricing Policy.
  • Supporting Inventory and Supply Chain accounting, VAT reporting, reconciliations, and analysis, including 3PL reconciliations and controls.
  • Performing inventory revaluation as required and accounting for standard to standard and actual to standard variances, such as purchase price variances and stock write offs. Consideration of the effects of Goods in transit on stock levels and IFRS15.
  • Working with internal and external auditors for J-SOX, Controls Reviews, PBC requests and other inquiries as needed.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Substantial years of relevant experience in intercompany and inventory accounting or a similar field.
  • Prior experience in a multinational environment and matrix organisation preferred.
  • Familiarity with Shared Service or Global Capability Centre collaboration models.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and awareness of local GAAP variations.
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, J-SOX/SOX frameworks, and finance governance.
  • Advanced knowledge of transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, and corporate tax matters.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP and RRB) and exposure to financial consolidation tools.
  • Strong Excel skills: experience with Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
  • English and local language advanced level in speaking and writing.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, e.g., Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
  • ACA / or ACCA / or CPA and / or equivalent accounting qualification is preferred.

Additional information:

  • This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
