The Opportunity:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Operations Controller to join our Finance team in Warsaw. This role is responsible for managing tax return processes and systems and ensuring accurate accounting for both direct and indirect taxes across our Affiliates. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with local regulations and global standards.
This position is central to tax reporting and accounting, providing visibility and control over tax return status for all operational Affiliates.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of indirect tax returns for each Affiliate.
• Collaborate with outsourced partners to correct tax rate or code issues.
• Partner with the central Tax team to support smooth end-to-end tax processes.
• Direct accounting entries for tax returns and provisions in the ledger.
• Oversee tax-related balance sheet reconciliations to global standards.
• Act as key contact for JSOX controls and audit requests related to tax.
• Calculate direct tax provisions using effective tax rates from the central team.
• Work with external advisors to align tax processes with local regulations.
• Report tax return status by Affiliate to central Tax and Finance teams.
• Support transformation projects and system improvements related to tax.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
• Proven experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
• Strong background in tax return preparation and filing.
• Experience in direct and indirect tax accounting.
• Proven ability to work with auditors and tax authorities.
• Solid understanding of internal controls and financial governance (e.g., J-SOX/SOX).
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Excel.
• Advanced level of English and Polish (spoken and written).
Preferred Experience:
• Experience in a multinational company or matrix organization.
• Familiarity with Shared Services or GCC/GBS models.
• Working knowledge of Thomson Reuters tax coding tool and Ariba.
Education:
• University degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) are a plus.
Additional Information:
This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
