Astellas’ Global Capability Centres – Overview
Astellas’ Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are strategically located sites that give Astellas the ability to access talent across various functions in the value chain and to co-locate core capabilities that are currently dispersed. Our three GCCs are located in India, Poland and Mexico.
The GCCs will enhance our operational efficiency, resilience and innovation potential, enabling a timely response to changing business demands.

Location and Working Environment
This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.

Purpose & Scope
· Oversee governance of enterprise AI within Astellas’ Gen AI POD, ensuring AI tools are used responsibly, comply with regulations, and align with internal standards.
· Lead Responsible AI framework implementation, including policies, processes, and controls, while evaluating AI use cases and managing third-party AI risks.
· Collaborate across business, tech, legal, and compliance teams to embed governance into AI development, improve processes through monitoring and reporting, and promote awareness and best practices.
Role and Responsibilities
· Operationalize, and maintain Responsible AI framework, operating model, processes, policies, and controls.
· Collaborate with business, compliance, legal, and technology teams to align AI solutions with organizational guidelines, policies, and regulatory expectations.
· Drive continuous improvement in Responsible AI practices, including automation, monitoring, and reporting.
· Liaise with Responsible AI, Risk and Governance forums and different functional business units.
· Drive AI use case evaluation and prioritization process by presenting and facilitating use cases for approval to the applicable forums.
· Drive AI third party risk assessment including the evaluation of external AI vendors against security, compliance, and contractual obligation criteria.
· Auditing and reporting on the performance and efficacy of AI Governance processes and controls.
· Drive the integration of AI governance best practices into ongoing product development efforts and AI developing lifecycle, ensuring scalability and compliance with global standards
· Develop and maintain internal knowledge bases, documentation, and training materials. Organize and facilitate AI governance training sessions and workshops.
Continue: Role and Responsibilities
· Prepare materials and presentations for key meetings. Serve as the key point of contact for AI governance inquiries and support requests.
· Design and implement dashboards to visualize AI governance data and trends.
· Generate regular reports on key AI governance metrics and KPIs.
Required Qualifications
· Deep knowledge of AI/ML technologies, regulatory standards, and ethical frameworks.
· Stakeholder management skills
· Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
· Technical proficiency in AI/ML operations, monitoring, and automation tools (e.g., MLOps platforms, model monitoring solutions, risk assessment tools).
· Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and data governance tools (OneTrust AI Governance, Credo, etc.).
· Experience in AI operations, governance, or risk management.

· Life Sciences / Pharma industry/Digital Health experience
