The Opportunity:

In this role, you will join the R&D Office within Research & Development at Astellas as a highly analytical and detail-oriented Analyst, Insights. You will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to uncover industry trends, competitive benchmarks, and key performance metrics. Your insights will play a critical role in supporting decision-making across R&D, commercial, and operational functions, helping to strengthen our competitive position and drive strategic growth across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting, analysing, and interpreting data from internal and external sources to identify industry trends, benchmarks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Designing and conducting studies on R&D productivity, cost structures, pipeline success, and operational performance to compare against industry standards.
  • Developing reports, dashboards, and presentations to clearly communicate findings and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Partnering with teams across Finance, Project Management, Strategy, and Clinical Operations to align insights with business goals and support excellence in operations.
  • Staying current with industry trends and best practices, driving process enhancements, and contributing to the advancement of reporting and analytics capabilities.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience in benchmarking, data analysis, or competitive intelligence, ideally within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex insights clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical industry dynamics, including drug development, market trend, and regulatory considerations.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Science, Economics, Life Sciences or equivalent
  • Proficiency in business English is essential for effective cross-country collaboration.

Additional Information:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position.
  • This position is based in Warsaw, Poland
  • This position follows our hybrid working model. The role requires a blend of home and approx. 1 day per quarter in our Warsaw office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
