About this job:

As an Associate Director, you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in our global Data Science division, within our new UK-based team who will help us to continue to deliver value to patients.

As the global Statistical Lead, you will be responsible for bringing together a comprehensive and inclusive group of quantitative scientists who design Astellas’ development programs to allow data-driven decision-making.

To note, this role includes both senior management and operational components.
Using state-of-the-art methodology and a highly innovative approach, our team generates compelling evidence using clinical trials and real-world data (RWD) to ensure successful and timely regulatory approval, pricing, reimbursement, and patient access.

Key Activities for this role:

  • Acting independently as a Study Statistician / Medical Affairs Statistician / Exploratory Statistician / Regional Statistician Lead or Lead Product Statistician.
  • Acting as a Global Statistical Lead for an early or back up asset or as a Methodology expert validating the execution of complex techniques.
  • Undertaking and overseeing complex/novel work in an established area such as clinical/ observational studies, MA tactic or biomarker and PK/PD analyses.
  • Researching innovative solutions and training other statisticians
  • Working as part of cross-functional, global teams

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Significant experience in a global setting applying statistical methods in biomedical research, pharma, CRO, academia or the healthcare industry,
  • Advanced and broad knowledge of statistical methods, along with an understanding of industry practices related to the statistical analysis of clinical and biomarker data
  • Knowledge and skills in SAS OR R
  • In-depth familiarity with processes and procedures in data management and programming
  • Good knowledge of medical literature and the clinical, regulatory, and commercial landscape
  • The ability to understand, implement, and explain complex statistical methodology

Educations/Qualifications:

  • An MSc, PhD or equivalent in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related scientific field is highly desirable however a bachelor's degree combined with work-based experience within Statistical programming would also be considered.

Additional information:

  • The is a permanent, full-time position based in the UK.
  • We offer a hybrid working pattern, requiring one day per quarter in the office (Addlestone), blended with a collaborative video environment that supports working from home.
