Location and Working Environment
This position is hybrid and will require you to be onsite 2 days per week in our Bourne office, UK.

Purpose & Scope
The Content Specialist is enhancing Astellas’ ability to meet diverse customer and segment needs by establishing content as a core capability within Global Brand Teams, while driving measurable business impact through optimised content operations aligned to the Global for Local Operating Model. Bringing strong subject matter expertise in content lifecycle best practices and operations, the role is enabling seamless omnichannel execution of tailored, audience-specific messaging.
Supporting both the development and execution of content operations, the Content Specialist is continuously monitoring performance metrics and identifying opportunities to optimise current campaign materials. In close partnership with analytics and cross-functional teams, the role is refining content effectiveness and embedding insights and best practices into future campaigns alongside brand partners.
Working across a broad stakeholder landscape, the Content Specialist is collaborating with strategic marketing brand teams, medical affairs, global ABC review teams, affiliate marketing partners, external agencies, CEE, and Content Factory teams. Acting as a key liaison and subject matter expert, the role is ensuring alignment with global ways of working and established content capabilities, including content planning, modular content creation, production, ABC/MLR review and approval, and distribution.
Driving streamlined operations, efficiency, and compliance, the Content Specialist is consistently applying global processes and standards. Operating at the global brand level within a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, the role is managing multiple concurrent projects while maintaining a high standard of delivery.
Role and Responsibilities
· Supporting the GBSM team in content planning, creation, and approval, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery across the content lifecycle
· Delivering light medical writing to supporting brand asset creation and adaptation, maintaining accuracy and consistency
· Owning end-to-end content project management, collaborating closely with internal creative and production teams to driving projects through to completion
· Acting as a Veeva PromoMats SME and super user, managing Veeva jobs workflow and coordinating seamlessly with internal and external partners
· Coordinating with ABC/MLR reviewers to ensuring a smooth and compliant flow of marketing materials within Veeva PromoMats
· Supporting GBSM omnichannel (OC) journey recommendations for affiliates, while creating global OC journey assets designed for localisation, including within Activator
· Building and maintaining Veeva content portals, claims libraries, element libraries, modular content, and customer journey assets, ensuring accurate linking, anchoring, tagging, and metadata across global materials
· Managing content information flow to affiliate teams through global content portals, content calendars, and regular touchpoints, while sharing best practices and establishing content measurement frameworks and KPIs, enabling data-driven decision-making for global content strategy.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
· Proven experience in content creation, copywriting, content localisation and digital/omnichannel engagement within the pharmaceutical, life science industry or other highly regulated industries
· Medical copywriting experience either through agency or a life sciences company.
· Experience with data, analytics and insights with the ability to interpret data into meaningful information to help steer decision making
· Demonstrated success in driving complex, multistakeholder projects and initiatives
· Experience in pharma brand team and content creation, and/or brand marketing including digital strategy, digital marketing, and other multi-channel and content delivery roles
· Well-aware of current innovation in content strategy, modular content approaches, and other forward-looking developments within content and operations
· Communication and presentation skills including the ability to influence and manage senior leaders and other key stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
· Science degree or equivalent.
· Experience in omnichannel content within pharmaceutical, life sciences, FMCG, or other content-driven industries, or within an advertising/marketing agency
· Familiarity with Legal, Medical, and Regulatory (LMR) review processes and local compliance requirements
· Sales or field experience engaging with HCPs, payers, and patients
· Exposure to oncology or other specialist therapeutic areas
· Forward-thinking mindset with a strong interest in digital transformation and innovation in content and marketing platforms.
