The Opportunity:

In this role, you will lead the delivery of reliable, actionable insights to internal stakeholders, helping to shape data-driven decisions across Astellas Research & Development (R&D). You will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting trial operational data to uncover industry trends, benchmark performance, and drive continuous improvement in drug development processes. With a strong focus on data quality and operational efficiency, you will play a key role in ensuring that best-in-class insights are developed, maintained, and evolved to meet changing business needs. Your analytical mindset and attention to detail will be critical in identifying opportunities that enhance the effectiveness of our R&D operations.

Key Activities for this role:

  • Leading cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Finance, Clinical Operations, and Strategy to align benchmarking efforts with business goals.
  • Gathering and analyzing internal and external data to identify industry benchmarks, trends, and performance gaps.
  • Designing and executing benchmarking studies on productivity, pipeline success, cost, and operational metrics.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Staying current on industry trends while identifying and implementing process improvements for insight generation.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in benchmarking, data analysis, or competitive intelligence, preferably within pharmaceuticals or biotechnology.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, Tableau) and statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical industry dynamics, including drug development, market trends, and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while effectively prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Economics, Life Sciences or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in business English is essential for effective cross-country collaboration.

Additional Information:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position.
  • This position is based in Warsaw, Poland.
  • This position follows our hybrid working model. The role requires a blend of home and approx. 1 day per quarter in our Warsaw office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
