The Opportunity:

As Legal Commercial Lead of PCSU (Poland, Czech, Slovakia, and Ukraine) and HBRG (Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece), you will ensure overall commercial legal support and risk management for the assigned Affiliates, adapting to evolving business needs under the Senior Director's guidance. Serving as a key business partner, you will act as a first legal point of contact for your assigned area, collaborate closely with selected Affiliate teams within the Mid-Sized Markets Area to achieve the business’s strategic goals, optimize opportunities, and mitigate risks in a dynamic regulatory landscape and ensure legal compliance.

Key Activities for this role:

  • Strategic Support: Acting as a strategic partner to Assigned Mid-Sized Markets Affiliate functions in order to facilitate Affiliate strategic objectives and effectively and efficiently manage risk and maximize opportunities in compliance with laws and regulations, keeping abreast of industry legal developments and best practices.
  • Legal Oversight: Leading legal support for Assigned Mid-Sized Markets Affiliates, including but not limited to negotiating and managing contracts, disputes, product launches, and providing general commercial advice. Provide timely, proactive, strategic and risk-balanced legal advice and support on a broad array of complex issues, taking into account the business objectives of the organization and the unique and varying legal requirements of the relevant market.
  • Support Strategy: Developing and executing a legal support strategy aligned with the Mid-Sized Markets and Legal Division strategy, identifying key areas of focus and risk profiles.
  • Reporting and Guidance: Ensuring timely reporting of legal matters to senior management, advising on legal risks and industry developments, and assisting in higher-level reporting.
  • Efficiency and Collaboration: Driving a culture of informed risk-taking, streamline legal processes, facilitate training, and collaborate with other assurance functions to ensure compliance and governance.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Qualified attorney with substantial post-qualification experience in the pharmaceutical industry or at a life sciences department of a reputable international law firm , demonstrating expertise in general commercial and industry-specific legal matters.
  • Proven capability in navigating multinational organizations and diverse jurisdictions, with a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical and life science sector.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, adept at conveying complex legal issues in a clear and understandable manner, skilled in presenting to stakeholders of various seniority levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly comprehend legal complexities, make informed decisions, manage a heavy workload, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • A dedicated team player with strong relationship-building skills, a detail-oriented approach, strategic thinking ability, and a commitment to maintaining professional integrity and excellence.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English are essential for this role, whereas fluency in Polish, as the local language is an advantage. Additionally, fluency or communication level of knowledge in another language(s) would be a plus, contributing to the global communication and collaborative efforts within our diverse business environment.

Educations/Qualifications:

  • Law degree, preferably LL.M. or equivalent

Additional Information:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position.
  • Location: Warsaw, although alternative locations may be considered.
  • This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of two days per week in our local office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
