Astellas’ Global Capability Centres – Overview


Astellas’ Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are strategically located sites that give Astellas the ability to access talent across various functions in the value chain and to co-locate core capabilities that are currently dispersed. Our three GCCs are located in India, Poland and Mexico.

The GCCs will enhance our operational efficiency, resilience and innovation potential, enabling a timely response to changing business demands.

Our GCCs are an integral part of Astellas, guided by our shared values and behaviours, and are critical enablers of the company’s strategic priorities, sustainable growth, and commitment to turn innovative science into VALUE for patients.


Location and Working Environment


 

This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.

Purpose & Scope


·       Serve as the Center of Excellence (COE) for Benefits across Europe, Africa, and Asia, providing strategic direction and subject matter expertise in health, welfare, retirement, and leave programs aligned to a cohesive global vision.

·       Partner with brokers, carriers, vendors, Finance, Legal, and regional leaders to ensure competitive, compliant, and well-governed benefits that enhance employee well-being, attraction, retention, and business performance.

·       Translate global benefits strategy into effective regional implementation across affiliate locations, driving governance, compliance, and operational excellence.

·       Support a hybrid work culture that promotes flexibility and balance between professional and personal life.


Role and Responsibilities


·       Lead and continuously enhance benefits programs across the region, aligning to company values, global strategy, and evolving employee needs.

·       Translate global benefits direction into actionable regional implementation plans, supporting local business cases and program changes.

·       Oversee end-to-end benefits administration including enrolment, eligibility, leave and disability programs, vendor coordination, and issue resolution.

·       Establish and maintain governance frameworks, policies, documentation, and controls to ensure compliance and operational consistency.

·       Manage broker, carrier, and vendor relationships while partnering with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and value optimization.


Required Qualifications


·       Previous progressive benefits experience across global or multi-country environments.

·       Deep expertise in health and welfare, retirement, and leave programs with strong knowledge of governance and compliance requirements.

·       Proven ability to lead projects, manage stakeholders, and build trusted relationships across dispersed regional teams.

·       Strong analytical capability with advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems.

·       Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach.


Preferred Qualifications


·       Experience leveraging data, analytics, and market benchmarking to drive innovation and informed decision-making.

·       Exposure to managing benefits spend and delivering measurable return on investment across assigned territories.

·       Experience leading open enrolment processes across multiple markets, including communications and renewals.

·       Fluency in English with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultural and regional environments.
