Location and Working Environment
- This is a permanent role which is based in UK (Addlestone Offices) - hybrid working with the expectation to be in office twice per week.

Purpose & Scope
- The Congress & Events Enablement Expert is part of the Customer Engagement Excellence (CEE) team within the broader Value Delivery organization. CEE is an integrated global group focused on supporting capabilities across Value Delivery, including Commercial (Sales/Marketing), Market Access, and Medical Affairs, to enhance delivery and outcomes for the business, while prioritizing ethical decision-making. During all such activities, there is a need to ensure that the integrity and independence of Medical Affairs capabilities is not compromised. The Chapter Member is expected to communicate and consult with their Chapter and Value Team Leads proactively as necessary to ensure that the integrity and independence of Medical Affairs is always maintained.
- The Congress & Events Enablement Expert drives activities and outcomes aligned with the Congress and Events Enablement Chapter.
- In the role of Chapter Member, the individual executes day-to-day activities within their assigned Value Team, with responsibilities that may vary according to the team’s mandate. Within the Value Team, the Chapter Member focuses on resolving specific business challenges for the organization. Value Teams are established and evolve in response to changing business objectives, and Chapter Members serve as key business partners, applying their expertise to drive organizational results.
- As a Value Team member, the individual collaborates with cross-functional resources to achieve defined objectives and outcomes, working from a prioritized backlog of tasks. The Chapter Member works directly with the Value Team Lead to execute the team’s strategy and deliverables in alignment with its mission.
- The Chapter Member receives capability and skillset development under the guidance of the Chapter Lead, who provides coaching and mentoring within the Agile model.
Role and Responsibilities
Value Team Delivery
- Deliver day-to-day tasks and responsibilities as defined by the Value Team’s mandate, Value Team Mandates are based on business objectives).
- Support the Value Team Lead in executing the team’s strategy and objectives.
- Apply expertise to address and resolve specific business challenges identified by the Value Team, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes as defined by the objectives.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional team members and stakeholders to accomplish prioritized objectives and deliverables.
Area-specific Responsibility & Accountability: Congress and Event Enablement
- Supports the development and adoption of tools, policies, and processes for global meeting professionals.
- Promotes a unified approach to strategic meeting management and execution, aiming for optimal customer experience & engagement whilst achieving cost savings.
- Collaborates closely with global colleagues to create and provide guidance on congress and event delivery policies and processes.
- Manages global vendors at the programme level involved in congresses and event delivery.
- Identifies opportunities to create and improve processes and practices to enhance customer experience.
- Supports the ongoing evolution and improvement of Congresses and Events.
- Participate in initiatives to improve team effectiveness and efficiency at scale.
- Other such duties may be reasonably required by the business.

Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes and contribute to initiatives that improve team effectiveness and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities that enhance customer experience and engagement at Congress and events enabling further omni-channel activities.
- Skill Development and Learning
- Engage in ongoing professional development and capability building, leveraging guidance from the Chapter Lead.
Compliance and Best Practices
- Act as key point of contact for global cross functional teams to establish global standards for the global operating model, collaborating with regional VTs as required to deploy.
- Drive Ethics & Compliance: Establish and promote a culture of ethics and compliance within the Global Congresses and Events Chapters, including developing and leading educational initiatives and challenging non-compliance when necessary.
- Adhere to established standards, policies, and leading practices relevant to Congress and Event Value Team activities and Chapters, ensuring compliance in all related areas.
Agile
- Utilize agile approaches, collaborate in agile ceremonies and Ways of Working to ensure effective delivery for the business.
- Collaborate and foster a culture of collaboration, flexibility, and responsiveness to change, enabling the team to thrive in an agile environment
Required Qualifications
- Seasoned relevant work experience, preferably in Operations or Meeting Planning.
- Pharma sector experience with strong customer focus in multi disciplinary, matrixed, and cross cultural environments.
- Proven track record in leading or implementing Global process change, with strong organizational and collaboration skills.
- Strong compliance expertise with the ability to interpret and apply industry laws and regulations.
- Experience with event management technologies e.g. Veeva Event Management (VEM), Cvent, Onomi, etc.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical compliance requirements at enterprise congress & event level.
- Demonstrated coaching and collaboration skills to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Evidence of proactively promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.
- Proven ability to influence, appropriately challenge, and engage diverse senior stakeholders.
- Fluent in written and verbal business English.
- Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask under pressure in a global matrix environment.

- Understanding of global functions within enterprise strategy.
- Experience in global or cross regional roles.
- Highly coachable and growth oriented.
