Location and Working Environment 

  • This position is a field-based opportunity in West & East Flanders, Belgium. 
  • This is a full-time & permanent contract.

Purpose & Scope 

  • The Oncology Account Manager is responsible for driving the successful adoption and growth of Astellas' Oncology portfolio within the assigned territory. Through strategic account planning, customer engagement, and execution excellence, the role delivers and exceeds territory sales and business objectives. Acting as a trusted partner to healthcare professionals and key stakeholders, the Oncology Account Manager represents Astellas in the field, enhances the company's visibility, and supports improved patient outcomes through the effective promotion of innovative oncology therapies.
  • This role is accountable for developing and implementing local account plans that align with business priorities and customer needs across a defined territory. The Oncology Account Manager builds and maintains strong relationships with a broad network of stakeholders, including prescribers, financial and reimbursement influencers, clinical decision-makers, medical management, and other individuals who impact oncology treatment pathways and business performance.
  • The position requires effective engagement through both face-to-face and digital channels, leveraging a multichannel approach to deliver tailored customer interactions. Working collaboratively with cross-functional internal teams, the Oncology Account Manager ensures consistent communication, identifies opportunities for partnership, and drives sustainable business growth while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and customer focus.

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement local account plans to effectively promote the Oncology portfolio within an assigned territory, delivering and exceeding sales and business objectives.
  • Plan, organize, and execute both in-person and virtual promotional activities and events, leveraging company resources and platforms to maximize customer engagement and impact.
  • Represent Astellas to healthcare organizations (HCOs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), and other relevant stakeholders, effectively communicating the value proposition, appropriate use, and clinical benefits of Astellas' oncology products.
  • Drive customer engagement by identifying the most effective communication channels, developing tailored omnichannel engagement plans, and delivering meaningful customer interactions across multiple touchpoints.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other key stakeholders, to ensure aligned and coordinated customer engagement strategies and promotional activities.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key customers and influencers, supporting long-term partnerships and sustainable business growth within the territory.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a Sales Representative, with a strong background in Oncology and experience promoting products within hospital settings.
  • Fluent in Dutch, with a good command of English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong disease area knowledge, territory management skills, and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Experience in digital and omnichannel customer engagement.
  • Proficient in the use of CRM systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with iPad-based applications.
