Über diese Position:
Als Medical Lead Therapeutic Area Oncology übernehmen Sie in einer fachlichen Expertenrolle ohne disziplinarische Führungsverantwortung die strategische medizinische Verantwortung für alle oncology‑relevanten Medical‑Affairs‑Aktivitäten. Sie agieren als medizinische Schlüsselfunktion in einer Matrixorganisation, fördern integrierte Partnerschaften und arbeiten eng mit internen Teams sowie externen Expert:innen zusammen, um das Verständnis unserer Produkte, ihrer sicheren Anwendung und der behandelten Erkrankungen zu stärken. Dabei stellen Sie sicher, dass alle medizinischen Aktivitäten wissenschaftlich fundiert sowie zeit- und budgetgerecht umgesetzt werden.
Das können Sie bewirken:
- Strategische medizinische Expertise für alle medizinischen Abteilungsaufgaben und interdisziplinäre Aktivitäten bereitstellen
- Matrixführung durch integrierte Partnerschaften sicherstellen, um lokale Bedürfnisse zu erfüllen und das Verständnis der Astellas-Produkte zu fördern
- Zusammenarbeit mit externen Stakeholdern, um Verständnis für Entwicklungsverbindungen, sichere Produktanwendung und behandelte Krankheitszustände zu fördern
- Zusammenarbeit mit externen Experten und internen Teams zur Erreichung von Geschäftszielen sicherstellen
- Sicherstellen, dass MA-Aktivitäten wissenschaftlich fundiert, zeit- und budgetgerecht sind.
Essenzielle Kompetenzen & Erfahrung:
- · Fundierte Berufserfahrung in der pharmazeutischen Industrie und/oder im medizinisch wissenschaftlichen Umfeld (z.B. Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, etc.)
- · Kenntnis der Strukturen und Abläufe im Gesundheitswesen und in Kliniken inkl. Einblicke in die Gesundheitspolitik von Vorteil
- · Gute Kenntnisse der MS Office-Suite, idealerweise Erfahrung mit (medizinischen) Datenbanken
- · Sichere Deutsch- und gute Englisch-Kenntnisse (Fortgeschritten/Advanced)
Erforderliche Qualifikationen:
- Abgeschlossenes naturwissenschaftliches Studium mit Promotion oder vergleichbar

Purpose & Scope
- As Medical Lead Therapeutic Area Oncology, you assume strategic medical responsibility for all oncology‑related Medical Affairs activities in a senior expert role without people management responsibility. You act as a key medical partner within a matrix organization, fostering integrated collaborations and working closely with internal teams and external experts to enhance understanding of our products, their safe use, and the diseases they address. In doing so, you ensure that all medical activities are scientifically sound and delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic medical and scientific expertise in support of all affiliate Medical Affairs deliverables and cross-functional activities.
- Demonstrate matrix leadership by developing and maintaining integrated partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure all MA affiliate activities address local needs and advance the medical/scientific understanding of Astellas products across their lifecycle.
- Understand, align, and engage with external stakeholders to advance the understanding of and science behind compounds in development, the safe and effective use of Astellas products and disease states that they treat.
- Be responsible for engaging with Key External Experts in relevant TA and working closely with key internal stakeholders, including the brand teams across the affiliate to achieve business objectives for the affiliate.
- Ensure all affiliate MA activities deliver value and are based on scientific validity, clinical importance and on time & budget.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Solid professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or in the medical-scientific field (e.g., Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, etc.)
- Understanding of structures and processes in healthcare and clinics, including insights into health policy, is advantageous
- Good knowledge of the MS Office suite, preferably experience with (medical) databases.
- Proficient in German and good English skills (Advanced level)
Education:
- Completed degree in natural sciences with a doctorate or equivalent
