The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Tax Operations Coordinator to join our team in Warsaw. In this role, you will support the preparation and submission of tax returns for our local business units (Affiliates). You will also help ensure that tax-related accounting is accurate and follows local and global rules.
You will work closely with our central tax team, finance teams, and external partners (such as Genpact and professional services firms) to make sure all tax returns and records are correct and submitted on time.

Key Responsibilities:
- Help prepare and submit indirect tax returns (such as VAT) for each Affiliate, ensuring they are accurate and submitted on time.
- Work with external partners to correct any mistakes in tax codes or tax rates.
- Collaborate with the central tax team to ensure smooth and accurate tax processes.
- Record direct and indirect tax entries in the accounting system, including monthly tax returns and provisions.
- Perform tax-related balance sheet reconciliations according to global standards.
- Act as a contact point for audit and internal control (JSOX) requests related to tax.
- Calculate direct tax provisions using tax rates provided by the central tax team.
- Work with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of tax returns for each Affiliate, to be shared with the central tax and finance teams.
- Support process improvements and system changes, including participating in transformation projects and system updates.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Initial experience in preparing and submitting tax returns, ideally in an international or multinational company.
- Background in accounting and bookkeeping, with hands-on experience in tax-related entries.
- Knowledge of tax accounting processes, including both indirect and direct tax.
- Understanding of General Ledger postings and tax-related accounting entries.
- Solid understanding of internal controls, including J-SOX/SOX frameworks and financial governance.
- Experience working with external auditors and tax authorities, including responding to audit requests.
- Familiarity with Shared Service Centers or Global Capability Centers and collaborating across different teams and locations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, especially SAP.
- Working knowledge of Thomson Reuters tax coding tool and Ariba procurement system is preferred.
Education/Qualifications:
- University degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) are a plus.
Additional Information:
- This is a permanent role based in our Global Capability Centre in Warsaw, Poland and hybrid working with the expectation for some office presence. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
