The Opportunity:
As a Capital Projects Lead at Astellas Pharma, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future ofhealthcare through innovative capital project management. You will oversee the entire lifecycle ofcapital projects, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and delivering impactful results that change lives. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of developing therapies that address unmet medical needs, while fostering a culture of operational excellence and collaboration.
This role reports to the Head of Real estate and Workplace Experience. The position can be based in Ireland, United Kingdom or Poland.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Capital Projects Strategy to deliver projects excellence ensuring all projects are delivered safely to optimal value meeting compliance regulations and design requirements.
- Chair the Capital Projects Global Governance Forum for the capital projects from initiation to completion providing oversight and transparency to the CXO and senior stakeholders
- Support the Capital Planning & Reporting Manager to define and develop a 5 year enterprise capital plan, best in class Capital Projects methodology and tools.
- Working in collaboration with key business stakeholders and business partners develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and business cases aligned to business requirements
- And enterprise/business Capital Budget.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, managing supplier relationships throughout project delivery championing operational excellence to drive efficiencies across capital projects processes and tools.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in capital programs and project management, preferably in a global context including knowledge of international codes and standards.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management experience related to capital programs and portfolio planning.
- Proven leadership and people management experience, with the ability to set goals and drive results.
- Excellent communication skills in written and verbal business English.
- Ability to align projects with strategic priorities and manage complex global portfolios.
Preferred Experience:
- Additional professional qualification (e.g., PMP).
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple time zones and travel internationally (up to 25%).
- Experience working across different geographies and cultures.
- IT literate; proficient in MS Office and virtual collaboration tools.
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Additional Information:
- This is a permanent, full-time position.
- The position can be based in Ireland, United Kingdom or Poland.
- This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 2 days per week in our Dublin, London or Central Warsaw office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
