The Opportunity:

As the Global Medical Affairs Lead Region at Astellas Pharma, you will be instrumental in revolutionizing the landscape of medical affairs for our pioneering therapies. By collaborating with global teams, you will ensure that invaluable regional perspectives are seamlessly woven into our medical strategies, driving impactful solutions. Your role will not only enhance patient care but also propel the global healthcare community forward, making a lasting difference in countless lives.

Key Activities for this role:

  • Co-lead the Regional Brand Team, ensuring alignment with global strategies and objectives.
  • Represent the region in Global Cocreation Team (GCT) and Core Medical Team (CMT) forums, acting as a conduit for insights and information.
  • Provide regional insights to the Global Cocreation Team (GCT) and Core Medical Team (CMT), ensuring that local needs are addressed in global strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Core Medical Team (CMT) and Global Cocreation Team (GCT) to create and execute the Core Medical Plan (CMP) and Integrated Global Brand Plan (iGBP).
  • Build and maintain relationships with regional experts to gather key scientific insights that support our therapeutic areas.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Extensive industry experience, including medical affairs, medical safety, or clinical development.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic areas, disease states, and product knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to develop innovative, patient-centered medical affairs strategies that drive patient access and brand performance.
  • Significant experience in Medical Affairs, demonstrating success in leading brand medical affairs strategies.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in multiple cultures and countries, enhancing your ability to navigate diverse healthcare environments.
  • Familiarity with global regulatory bodies and compliance guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Educations/Qualifications
  • A medical degree (MD or equivalent), Doctorate in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, or PhD, or equivalent experience.

Additional Information:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position.
  • Location UK office (Addlestone).
  • This position follows our hybrid working model. The role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 1 day per month in our UK office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
