The Opportunity:
As the Head, Strategic Collaboration, Established Markets, you will be responsible for identifying and developing the strategic direction for Medical Affairs non-product activities. You will also be leading the Planning and Operations activities for non-product activities as they relate to overall strategy and collaboration with cross-functions outside Medical. Collaborating cross-functionally and across all Medical Affairs, you will oversee, coordinate and provide leadership on non-project initiatives ensuring value communication of Medical Affairs activities across varied levels of management.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Head of Medical Affairs Region, you will ensure and enable the achievement of Medical Affairs goals through strategic guidance and advice in alignment with the current Astellas Corporate Strategic Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Senior Vice President, Head of MA Region in the creation and execution of multi-year Medical Affairs organizational strategic plan as well as translating the strategy into objectives.
- Leading the collaboration with Commercial Operations on Corporate Strategic Plan initiatives, Enterprise Priority initiatives e.g. Growth Strategy various activities related to the Medical Affairs & Commercial collaboration including omnichannel, communication, training and associated activities as well as other cross functions
- Partnering closely with the Regional Leadership Team and Global Operational Excellence Heads within the region on strategy and plans for Medical Affairs Region
- Leading and providing the oversight for the annual brand planning cycle and build consolidated overview for the region.
- Directing interactions with the Affiliate Medical Directors to ensure effective collaboration and communication to enable appropriate awareness of risks, opportunities, challenges to affiliate objectives.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Worked extensively within Medical Affairs with a focus on global operational excellence for needs relating to the digital roadmap.
- Led on the Medical Affairs initiatives specifically related to the Corporate Strategic Plan and Medical Affairs strategic roadmap as they apply to non-product activities for Medical Affairs Region.
- Aligned on congress planning for region in collaboration with cross functions.
- Worked with Medical & Development communication on alignment of communication plans for Medical Affairs Region
- Led or chaired matrix teams, if applicable, and represented Medical Affairs Region in relevant initiatives across Medical Affairs for non-product projects.
- Worked with Medical Communications to align on priorities and support of Medical Affairs region activities (i.e., non-promotional medical material, content factory)
- Collaborated with Medical Affairs Global, Regional/Functional colleagues and across geographies.
Preferred Experience:
- High integrity to maintain confidential and proprietary information.
- Leadership experience in a matrix organisation.
Education/Qualifications:
- Holds a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Additional Information:
- This is a permanent full-time position.
- This position is based in the UK/EU4 major markets
- This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 1 day per week in our local office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
