Location and Working Environment

Location Italy office (Italy), Milan.
This position has a focus on external engagement predominantly in Italy estimated time in field/ field-focussed activities of 2-3 days per week.

Purpose & Scope: 

• As the Field National Value Access Lead, the role is responsible for defining and executing the national field access strategy, ensuring optimal and timely market access at both regional and local levels.
• The role leads the Regional Access Manager team and holds full accountability for tender strategy and execution, while acting as a strategic partner to Commercial, Medical, and Key Account Management functions to maximize value recognition and business performance across the entire product lifecycle.

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Define and execute the national field access strategy to ensure optimal and timely market access at regional and local levels, and lead the development of annual field access operational plans aligned with brand strategies.
  • Lead the Regional Access Manager team, set priorities and KPIs, and ensure consistent execution of access, commercial and medical strategies across regions through structured cross functional governance.
  • Hold full national accountability for tender strategy, governance and execution, overseeing preparation, submission, monitoring, competitive analysis, scenario planning, pricing recommendations and escalation of complex tenders.
  • Anticipate regional access barriers, develop mitigation strategies, ensure compliance with internal and external frameworks, and provide strategic insights to support high value account prioritization and integrated account planning.
  • Monitor procurement bodies and upcoming tenders, lead demand and needs analyses, and ensure alignment between epidemiology, allocation mechanisms and commercial forecasts while maintaining effective information flow between field and HQ.
  • Represent the organization in institutional and external affairs, supporting partnerships with public entities and contributing to relationships with national and regional authorities, including participation in high level negotiations.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Degree in a scientific or pharmaceutical discipline or equivalent.
• Fluent in English with strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Extensive experience in Market Access and Tender Management within the pharmaceutical industry, supported by deep knowledge of regional healthcare systems and centralized procurement dynamics.
• Proven leadership of field based teams and experience working in cross functional matrix environments.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including tender modelling, scenario simulation and interpretation of budget impact analyses.
• Demonstrated ability to combine a strategic mindset with strong execution capability.
• Experience in team leadership, fostering collaboration, alignment and high performance delivery across functions.
